Indian River County Chamber announces new position for economic development

The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the hiring of John Corapi as its new Business Retention Manager.  Corapi will start his position today.

“The Business Retention Manager is a new position within our Chamber”, explains Helene Caseltine, Economic Development Director for the Chamber. “Economic development activity has significantly increased over the years, both on the business recruitment side and the retention/expansion of our existing businesses.”  The Chamber serves as the primary economic development organization on behalf of the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners.

Caseltine noted that John brings extraordinary talent to the position, including his fundraising skills along with a ready knowledge of the local business community.  His previous experience includes designing and implementing social media strategies, developing and strengthening business relationships as related to non-profit organizations, and creating new programs. John has lived in Vero Beach for 35+ years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and Marketing at the Phillips School of Business in High Point, NC.

Among the many duties of the Retention Manager, John will coordinate the Manufacturing Boot Camp program, which launched in 2018, and the Industry Appreciation Awards program, currently in its 32nd year.  He will also be conducting business retention visits to local manufacturers, organizing industry tours for the general public, coordinating the ACCRA Cost-of-Living surveys as well as Small Business Week activities.

The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce is a county-wide non-profit organization representing the business community.  The Chamber provides a wide variety of business services and benefits for its members and advocates on behalf of the local business community to create an environment where all businesses will thrive and succeed.
