In an effort to support and promote those local businesses most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Indian River County will launch the “IRC CARES” Program on Tuesday, September 8th from the Intergenerational Recreation Center (iG Center).
Through the IRC CARES Program, Indian River County will distribute a package of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to representatives from small businesses located within Indian River County. The purpose of the IRC CARES Program is to assist small businesses in their heightened efforts to perform the enhanced cleaning procedures required to stay open for business while keeping employees and customers safe and healthy. Each CARES package will include the following:
– 2 boxes of 50 disposable masks
– 1 box of 100 latex gloves
– 2 bottles of 8.5oz hand sanitizer
– 4 cloth masks
– 2 Indian River County masks
– 1 package of 60 sanitary wipes
Additionally, each CARES package will include a “Three C’s” poster that informs customers that a business is open while also encouraging customers to avoid closed spaces, crowded places, and close contact settings.
CARES packages will be available from the IG Center each weekday between 7:30am and 6:00pm, while supplies last, beginning on Tuesday, September 8th. The address for the iG Center is 1590 9th Street SW, Vero Beach, FL 32962. In order to expedite picking up CARES packages, business representatives should call 772-226-1732 to arrange a time to pick up the package. This opportunity is only offered to small businesses located within Indian River County. Those businesses seeking a CARES package should bring a business card, show proof of a business website, or be prepared to present another form of confirmation that their business is eligible to participate in the IRC CARES Program.
