Art in Public Places: Exhibit is sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County. The Cultural Council’s AIPP Program, in partner with Vero Beach Regional Airport in the Passenger Lounge waiting area. Art For Art’s Sake – Art in Social Isolation. During this period of Social Distancing caused by the pandemic, the Cultural Council initiated a project as an attempt to see how creative individuals in the area responded to it. It has been almost 6 months since ART FOR ARTS SAKE’s inception…and we have been continually receiving wonderful images of work created by area Artists. Memories of places near and far…happy times spent with family and friends…pride and patriotism of Country…these are several of the themes that are resonating at this time. First Friday Gallery Stroll October 2, 5:00 – 8:00pm 14th Avenue Art District Galleries along and around 14th Avenue, from 21 Street to 18 Street in downtown Vero Beach are open from 5 to 8 pm. Featuring new artists each month
Gallery 14 presents Calming Influences, Work by Gallery 14 Artists Beginning in October and continuing through November 27. In October the Gallery will be open: Thursday – Saturday, 11:00am – 3:00pm. In November, the Gallery will be open: Tuesday – Friday 10:00am – 5:00pm & Saturday 10:00am – 4:00pm. The exhibit will feature relaxing work to lift your spirits and renew the soul! There will also be a special wall of artwork offered by the owner-artists called ‘Support the Gallery.’ All proceeds from those sales will go to help the Gallery during these difficult times. There will be two receptions to coincide with the First Friday Gallery Stroll: Friday October 2, 5-8pm and Friday November 6, 5-8pm. All are invited. Please note that masks are required to be worn at Gallery 14. Featured will be Gallery 14 artist-owners: Lila Blakeslee, Barbara du Pont, Barbara Landry, Mary Ann Hall, Beth-Anne Fairchild, George Pillorgé, Deborah Polackwich, and Dorothy Napp Schindel, as well as work by Walford Campbell, Joan Earnhart, Terry Green, Viola Pace Knudsen, Mia Lindberg, Francis Mesaros, Michael Robinson, Carol Staub and sales associate-artist Jo Zaza. An Outdoor Revolution is here! Now on display at the Environmental Learning Center. Photographer Brian LaPersonerie will have his amazing nature photography on display in the Lagoon Room until November 22. His nature photography is showcased on metal prints and features images of wildlife, nature scenes and outdoor lifestyle shots. The images in “An Outdoor Revolution” aim to transport you to the healing reality of the great outdoors. VBMA Exhibition Avery to Warhol Through- January 3, 2021 The VBMA Avery to Warhol is an exhibition of our new Senior Curator, Anke Van Wagenberg’s selections from the vault. The exhibition will showcase a recent gift to the collection, Henry Hubbell’s Portrait of Three Sisters. From this 1903 painting, we will virtually travel through the twentieth century from the paintings by Milton Avery to Andy Warhol and not only contemporary masters but also selections of the glass collection of the VBMA. Indian River’s Got Talent is Here! Environmental Learning Center is presenting a new and exciting event— Indian River’s Got Talent! Dust off your tap shoes, tune your guitar and practice your magic tricks— Get your act together, because Indian River’s Got Talent has arrived! This new and entertaining event is in the works, and we are now accepting submissions for our youth division. Submit an up to two-minute video of any talent suitable for public viewing to DiscoverELC.org/IRGT. Cell phone videos are accepted. Submission: 12th grade and younger submissions extended to November 15. Adult submission deadline will be announced soon. Sing, dance, play a musical instrument, perform a comedy or magic act, show off your sports moves and show us your talent! The categories for our youth division will be segmented by grade— Elementary School (Grades K-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8) and High School (Grades 9-12). Submissions can be one person or up to as many participants as you would like. Please only submit one entry. Indian River’s Got Talent is now FREE to enter. “Keeping The Arts Alive” Applications due October 22, at Raw Space, 1795 Old Dixie HWY, Vero Beach. ART DROP-OFF DATE: NOVEMBER 2. This is an invitation for artists to participate in a new art show, “Keeping The Arts Alive,” sponsored and produced by local artists Camy De Mario, Judy Burgarella and Beth Siebert. Deadline for submitting Applications is October 22nd, and drop-off date for artwork is November 2nd (see application for specific times). Applications can be picked up at Raw Space Gallery, 1795 Old Dixie Highway, Vero Beach, Florida, or artists can find the application online at www.keepingtheartsalive.com and apply within the online form. Florida State Capitol 22nd Floor Gallery January 11 – March 26, 2021 Let’s celebrate four decades of accessible and inclusive arts! To honor its 40th anniversary, Arts4All Florida will select 40 works of art on paper for this juried exhibition that will be held at the Florida Capitol 22nd Floor Gallery. Theme: Celebration We invite Florida artists of all abilities to submit works that reflect the theme of celebration – a celebration of the joy of art, personal accomplishment, professional achievement, or a celebration of perseverance during challenging times. Medium: Paper A primary medium for art, paper is universal and accessible. Its simplicity taps creativity for painting, drawing, photography, collage, and calligraphy.
