Love was everywhere, and hearts were full of thankfulness with the abundance of support received during the Women’s Refuge Third Annual Love 5k Run/Walk recently held at Riverside Park.
“We had a goal for 175 people and we’re pleased to say that we had more than 220 signed up for this event. We’re going to lock in this every year for Valentine’s Day, and we can see it growing and growing. Next year, we’ll shoot for four hundred, maybe even five hundred,” said Women’s Refuge Executive Director Diane A. Ludwig. “A special thank you to our planning team, sponsors, volunteers, and participants for making this event possible.”
Event Co-Chairs Steve & Bonnie Pfiester were excited to have the opportunity to chair an event centered on the message of love for an organization that impacts lives right here in the Vero Beach community and beyond. They said, “We fully believe the message of love is needed more today than ever before. We live in a heart-broken world full of division and confusion. Love is not just a feeling, but a decision and action that often has a great ripple effect. It also holds a lot of power and can radically transform lives and communities.”
