Gallery 14 is excited to welcome local celebrity and magazine publisher Rhett Palmer with his very unique and special exhibit of digital paintings beginning May 4. The exhibit which will feature many bright and colorful images of sun and fun, while showcasing a side of Rhett that many perhaps do not know exists.
A true Renaissance man, Rhett began his radio career at the early age of ten and now as a twenty four year radio host veteran as well as magazine publisher, he is known as the ‘mayor of the airways.’ Also, a prolific composer, Rhett has created a slew of familiar advertising jingles. He is also a vocalist and poet and has appeared on many talk shows and received numerous awards. About his new venture into digital painting, according to Rhett: “One day, by accident, I found the phone app that I create work with, and have been obsessed with it every since.” I try to do three or four sketches each day. I am inspired by a profound appreciation for life and gratitude for the now.”
The show runs from May 4 – 28, with hours as follows: Tues-Fri 10am-5pm and Sat 10am-4pm. There will be a ‘Meet and Greet’ with the artist on Friday May 7th from 5-8pm in conjunction with the First Friday Gallery Stroll. All are invited to meet the artist and join in the fun.
