May 7, SolParty brings a spectacular evening of progressive rock music from Pink Floyd, the band known for their extended compositions and philosophical lyrics. You’ll hear songs from Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Animals and Wish You Were Here albums, all with laser light show effects

May 8, The Real Deal plays music from The Beatles, Beach Boys, Kinks, Creedence, Santana, Zombies, Ray Charles, Rascals, and more!

Featuring the works of newly featured local artists Joyce Simonton-Clamp and Michele Loftus-Trzcinski. Welcomes back more beautiful works by Donna Ware. The Galleries are located throughout the campus of First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Boulevard, Vero Beach.  Open for viewing from 12 – 3pm,  Monday through Thursday, and on Sunday mornings between church services. Admission is free and open to the community. The church requires all visitors to wear masks and practice social distancing while on campus.

On View May 4 – 28. Meet and Greet with the Artist May 7, 5-8pm. Gallery 14 welcomes local celebrity and magazine publisher Rhett Palmer with his very unique and special exhibit of digital paintings. The exhibit which will feature many bright and colorful images of sun and fun, while showcasing a side of Rhett that many perhaps do not know exists. Gallery hours: Tuesday – Friday 10am – 5pm & Saturday 10am – 4pm.

McKee Botanical Garden offers special BOGO admission for “MOM” on May 9.

McKee Botanical Garden is honoring Mom on Mother’s Day with a special BOGO offer of one free admission to all mothers* with one paid admission on Sunday, May 9. (*All moms, grandmothers, mothers-in-law or someone who is like a mother to you are included in this special admission).   If you are looking to take mom somewhere special this Mother’s Day…look no further than McKee Botanical Garden where an entire garden of beautiful blooms and fragrant botanicals await to greet her. Mom will enjoy relaxing and unwinding while taking in the natural landscape of majestic palms, exotic plants, trees, waterfalls, tranquil streams and peaceful surroundings throughout the Garden.

The Garden is open on Sunday, May 9 (Mother’s Day) from Noon – 5pm.  Regular Garden Hours:  Tuesday – Saturday (10am – 5pm), Sunday (noon–5 pm). 

The last admission ticket is sold at 4 pm. The Children’s Garden closes at 4:30pm.

McKee Botanical Garden is offering a special BOGO May 11 – 14.  The American Public Gardens Association is hosting Go Public Garden Days to raise awareness of America’s public gardens and their important role in environmental stewardship, plant and water conservation, and education. In conjunction with this national celebration McKee Botanical Garden is offering a special buy one paid admission and get one free from Tuesday, May 11 through Friday, May 14 (paid admission does not include current members).

Call to Artists

Visit Indian River County, www.VisitIndianRiverCounty.com, and the Cultural Council of IRC are working together to showcase local artists and their work.

In April, Visit Indian River County launched an Artist Spotlight Series of blog posts with the theme, Indian River County: Through The Artist’s Eye.

Each month the blog page will spotlight one artist with a bio, a brief Q&A and images of their work that are inspired by living on the Treasure Coast. This will be promoted across the social media platforms of both Visit IRC and the Cultural Council, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn.

The deadline for submissions has been extended. Please email Elise@Cultural-Council.org with up to five (5) examples of locally inspired artwork and your contact information. Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County has some Exciting news! We will be shaking things up a bit as we prepare to change out the current exhibit in the IRC Administration Buildings. No particular theme – artist’s choice.

  • Building A will be a Group Show – Please submit up to five (5) images for consideration.
  • Building B will be a Solo Show – If you would like to be considered for the solo installation, please submit a minimum of fifteen (15) and a maximum of twenty-five (25) images. Depending on the size of the artwork, a selection will be chosen to fit the available space.

Please email your artwork to Elise@Cultural-Council.org by the deadline, Monday, May 17, including the Title, Medium, Size and Price. Thank you!

The Community Church of Vero Beach is pleased to offer a Music Scholarship for the fall of 2021. The scholarship is named for Marion C. Link and was founded by her family in 1997.  The scholarship is available to residents of Indian River County who will be pursuing a music major or minor in college.
