Zoom workshops designed to help individuals bounce back from the frustrations surrounding Indian River County’s continuing COVID crisis have been scheduled for September by the Center for Spiritual Care in Vero Beach. The free workshops will be available Sept. 11 and 28 from 9 to 12:30 p.m.; and Sept. 15 and 25 from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
They will be moderated by counseling psychologist Charlotte Cain Lajoie and Center Executive Director Carol Ludwig. The workshops, begun in 2020 and funded by United Way, have attracted scores of participants. They are designed to help people re-ground and develop a sense of purpose at this uncertain time. Although the workshops are without charge, pre-registration is necessary at 567-1233.
“People have been left still wondering when life is going to get back to normal and when they’ll feel safe just going to the grocery store,” says Ludwig. “The anxieties caused by this situation easily turn into bitterness and resentment. We find ourselves languishing without direction and increasingly less hope.”
The workshops offer strategies to develop positive behaviors and activities and the chance to talk about personal experience of COVID, Ludwig said.
