Publix ‘Tools for Schools’ raises over $31,000

Publix Supermarkets Charities has awarded the Education Foundation of Indian River County $31,020.  These funds, in the form of Publix Gift Cards, will be distributed to all public and public charter schools. Principals will be able to use the gift cards to meet any emergency and unplanned needs that might arise at their schools. 

The money was raised during Publix’ annual “Tools for Schools” employee and customer fundraising campaign. Currently operating nine stores, Publix Supermarkets is a Top Ten employer in Indian River County and is well known for their community partnerships.

The Education Foundation of Indian River County funds Indian River County School District programs and services that support opportunities for students to achieve academic success Pre-K through 12th Grade.  2021projects include High Impact Grants for Teachers and Schools, STEP into Kindergarten, Indian River County Regional Science and Engineering Fair and The Sneaker Exchange.  As a member of the Florida Consortium of Education Foundations; The Education Foundation is the affiliated fund-raising agency for the Indian River County School District.   For more information, please contact the Education Foundation office: Douglas Herron, Executive Director, director@edfoundationirc.org, (772) 564-0034.
