Vacation Doings and Destinations ~ Member Exhibit

The Cultural Council of Indian River County, in partnership with the Vero Beach Museum of Art, announces a very special Art In Public Places exhibit.
Member artists were invited to submit artwork in the style of folk art to complement the museum’s current exhibit, American Perspective: Stories from the American Folk Art Collection, October 2 – January 2, 2022. Works of canvas, clay, basketry, wood, textile, resin are among the media used in this eclectic and creative collection from our local artists. The exhibit will be on display in the Patten Gallery in the Education wing October 27 – November 28. Please check the VBMA website for gallery hours. Visit: http://www.vbmuseum.org

Silent Film and Organ Concert with Andrew R. Galuska on October 29, 7 – 9pm. The Community Church of Vero Beach features an organ performance along side a selected silent film, including the score from the film and improvisation. A great addition to any Halloween weekend. 1826 32nd Ave, Vero Beach.
Treasure Coast Symphony Orchestra Spooktacular Concert on October 29, 7 – 9pm. Under the direction of Matthew Karram, a spookatcular concert of music for the whole family. 2nd Annual Halloween Car Parade. October 30, 9:30 – 11am. Participate in the City of Vero Beach Recreation Department’s Halloween Car Parade. Wear your costumes and decorate your car or a float and meet in the Riverside Theater parking lot at 9:30 a.m. on Oct 30th. The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. driving east on Beachland Blvd. to Sexton Plaza where free goody bags for participants ages 0 – 17 and prizes for best decorated vehicles. A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery ~ The Best of the Best

The A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery is pleased to announce the works of art that have been accepted to the 2021 Juried Art Exhibition The Best of the Best. A jury panel of three independent judges voted to accept 85 entries out of 243 submissions in four categories: Oil/Acrylics, Watercolor, Varied Techniques, and Three-Dimensional. American Perspectives: Stories from the American Folk Art Museum Collection

The exhibition includes over 90 American folk art objects, spanning from paintings and pottery, to quilts, needlework, and sculpture. The fascinating artworks span the entirety of our nation’s history, offering first hand testimony to the people, places, and events of our culture.
The Galleries at First Pres -Fall Art Installment
First Pres feature a wide variety of works by local artists, on rotation throughout the year. The Galleries are located throughout the campus of First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Boulevard, Vero Beach; they are open for viewing from 12pm to 3pm Monday through Thursday, and on Sunday mornings between church services.
