Ray has won a Pushcart Prize, an American Book Award, and a Southern Environmental Law Center Writing Award, among others, and has been inducted into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame. Janisse Ray is based on an organic farm inland from Savannah, GA, in the Southern coastal plains.
She will discuss her new collection of essays, Wild Spectacle: Seeking Wonders in a World Beyond Humans, talk about keeping hope in the face of the climate crisis and the ways we can protect what we love. Janisse will have her books for sale at Environmental Learning Center during the event.
