Community Church of VB announces Good Friday Requiem April 15

arts & entertainment

By popular demand, The Community Church of Vero Beach will present an encore performance of Dan Forrest’s “Requiem For the Living” on Good Friday, April 15, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the church Sanctuary. Well regarded as composer Dan Forrest’s greatest choral work, this piece features five movements, full choir, chamber orchestra, Jill Truax on our Lively-Fulcher organ, and soprano soloist Rachel Carter Murphy. Director of Music and Fine Arts Andrew R. Galuska will conduct. Words from composer Dan Forrest: “A Requiem, at its core, is a prayer for rest- traditionally, for the deceased. The five movements of Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living, (2013), however, form a narrative just as much for the living, and their own struggle with pain and sorrow, as for the dead.”

There is no cost to attend, but a free-will offering will be accepted. All are welcome to attend this Holy Week presentation.
