Bold expressions on view at the IRC courthouse

Vibrant color and bold strokes convey mood, atmosphere and a powerful sense of place in An Artist’s Wanderings, the current Art in Public Places exhibit showing at the Indian River County Courthouse.

Artist Mark San Souci’s expressionistic style invites the viewer to engage in his musings and travels throughout the Treasure Coast and a recent visit to the desert southwest. Images such as Seagulls South Beach and Veteran’s Memorial Park will be familiar to locals. Running Out of the Forest and Dancing in the New Year capture a timeless quality.

“As an Expressionist artist, I have been able to take advantage of the beauty of the Vero Beach to capture things that I see in my everyday wanderings,” San Souci said. “My artwork seeks to be colorful, hopeful and embracing imperfection.”
