The Vero Beach Museum of Art is delighted to present the exhibition: Picasso, Matisse and Friends: Drawings from a Private Collection. The exhibition is from a local private collection and will be on view through January 8, 2023 at the Museum.
These carefully selected drawings vary from masterful compositions by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) to the fine line drawings of Henri Matisse (1869-1954). Also included in the exhibition are works by their contemporaries many of whom were acquainted: Paul Cézanne, Marc Chagall, Edgar Degas, Raoul Dufy, Paul Gauguin, Auguste Renoir and more. The 25 original drawings cover from the early impressionism period in France, including an 1870 pastel by Cézanne – one of only three he ever created – to Picasso’s late work in the 1950s and Chagall’s 1974 large pen and ink drawing of Don Quixote.
A catalog is available for purchase in the Museum Store.
Make it a day: In addition to this exhibition, you must visit the James Balog photography collection also on display.
