VBMA Art Talk – Creatures and Habitats: Highlights from the Changing Nature Exhibition

Join VBMA docents for an in-depth focus on select artworks from the current exhibitions and the VBMA permanent collection. Trained docents will meet registered participants at the Visitor Services Desk, then head to the galleries for 45-60 minutes of careful looking and discussion.

Relive moments of holidays past as you marvel at McKee’s nostalgic large-scale train display (December 20-23 and December 28-30) and listen to the sounds of the 1924 Wurlitzer Band Organ (December 20-23). Intermittent snow flurries create a traditional holiday spirit in the Garden along with Santa, outdoor holiday movies, performances by local entertainers and special holiday treats from the Garden Café. Thousands of bright and colorful professionally installed lights will illuminate the Garden pathways along with lighted holiday displays and festive decorations

ELC presents It’s The Little Things” A 12″ by 12″ Show, On view through December 24. Scott Kelley, Barbara Landry, Katherine Larson, Karen Marsh, Phyllis Petrillo, Annie, Talley, Kathleen A. Raymond, LuAnn Sampson, Mark San Souci, Kevin Thompson, Barbara A. Whitlam, and Arlene Willnow.

Valerie Cecire is the featured artist in the Tidal Gallery and will be exhibiting her contemporary landscapes. She is an award-winning artist whose art pieces are impressions and concepts derived from nature with abstract dimensions. Cathy K. Ferrell is also showing bronze sculptures during this show. All of the artwork is available for purchase.

Viva FOCA!” On view through December 30. Center for Spiritual Care,1550 24th St. in Vero Beach, at the corner of 16th Avenue and 24th St. Twenty-seven of Vero’s best-known artists works at the Center for Spiritual Care for a month-long group exhibition. Organized by a local group of art enthusiasts called Friends of Contemporary Art, entitled “Viva FOCA!”The exhibition will feature small works, none larger than 14” x 14”. It will be open to viewers by appointment after the reception through December 30. Call the Center at 772-567-1233 to arrange a personal tour.

Final Ornament

Garden Club of Indian River County Christmas Ornament released for sale to the Community.  Marking the 31st year of producing the ornament, each year, featuring places in Indian River County that are near and dear to our hearts. Many residents enjoy collecting and gifting these ornaments and eagerly await their arrival. This year the Garden Club is happy to feature ‘Gardenfest!’. The brass ornament is adorned with our white trellis and colorful Bougainvillea. Celebrating the 20th year of this much-loved event, held each year on the first weekend in February under the oaks in Vero Beach. 20,000 people attend each year to find plants, herbs, various garden services, garden accessories and local business services.

Winner of five Tony Awards®, including best musical, Man of La Mancha is a powerful, funny, and heartbreaking musical celebrating the perseverance of one man who refuses to relinquish his ideals, and who is determined to see life “not as it is, but as it ought to be.”

OPERA: L’Elisir d’Amore (The Elixir of Love)

January 8, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.

Vero Beach Opera will present an original production of Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore (The Elixir of Love), with stage direction by Vero Beach Opera Artistic Director Russell Franks. Maestro Christopher Confessore will conduct the Brevard Symphony Orchestra. Costumes will come in from Norcostco Costume Co., and sets from Stivanello Costume Company, Inc. 

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, (CMS) is one of eleven constituents of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the largest performing arts complex in the world. The Chamber Music Society has its home in Alice Tully Hall – the finest hall in the world for chamber music. Through its performance, education, and recording/broadcast activities, it draws more people to chamber music than any other organization of its kind.
