Find your ancestors with Heritage Detectives’ Annette Burke Lyttle

news release

Join the Indian River Genealogical Society’s, IRGS monthly educational program, “Finding Your Ancestors by Researching the Neighbors” presented by Annette Burke Lyttle on February 13, 2024 at the Indian River County Main Library in the first floor Media Room. A 30-minute social will begin at 10:30 AM with the virtual program from 11 AM. -12:30 PM.

A popular speaker among the pros and those just beginning their research, Burke Lyttle’s presentation will focus on researching the Neighbors Neighborhood, cluster, or FAN (family, associates, and neighbors.) This approach can often be the key to breaking through brick walls. When records left by our ancestors don’t tell their story, we look for the records of the people around them because our ancestors can appear in their records. The records of neighbors can also suggest new places for us to look for records created by our ancestors. Learn how to use this powerful method for advancing your research during this hybrid presentation. Zoom link available on the IRGS website for those unable to attend in person.
