Nancy Bunt

Mrs. Bunt comes to Indian River County with 28 years of local government experience specializing in capital planning, public infrastructure, planning & development, and grant administration. Nancy currently serves as the Community & Economic Development Director for the City of Palm Bay. She previously served as the Community Services Director for the City of Cocoa for more than 16 years and as the Housing & Community Development
Director for the City of Titusville for 9 years.

During Nancy’s tenure at the City of Palm Bay, she led the evaluation of the city’s development review process and strategically implemented positive changes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the process. She attracted new high-wage commercial manufacturing companies and supervised small-and large-scale site plans, subdivisions, and annexations. Mrs. Bunt currently leads grant-funded public infrastructure projects and the ARPA funded Septic to Sewer Program.

Through the services of an executive recruiter, the County conducted a nationwide search where more than 50 candidates submitted to be the County’s Assistant County Administrator. Of the 50 candidates, 15 semifinalists were selected and after an additional screening, 7 finalists were selected of which 3 withdrew. The remaining 4 candidates were interviewed by a cross-departmental panel. Prior to the interviews, the reporting department directors were able to meet the candidates and during lunch the candidates had the opportunity to meet and
interact with the Board of County Commissioners.

“All four candidates were experienced and highly qualified and arguably all would have done an excellent job,” said Titkanich. The selection committee was unanimous.

Mrs. Bunt holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Central Florida. Her official start date was March 18, 2024.
