Ballet Vero Beach announces a celebratory 2026-2027 season

arts & entertainment

Ballet Vero Beach proudly unveils its highly anticipated 2026-2027 season, a dynamic and celebratory lineup honoring the Golden Jubilee (50th Birthday) of Ballet Master Camilo A. Rodriguez. This milestone season reflects Rodriguez’s artistic eye, legacy, and continued impact on the company and the broader dance community.

New for the 2026/2027 Season, all ticketing and subscriptions will be managed by the exceptional guest services team at Riverside Theatre, regardless of performance venue. This enhancement provides a streamlined, elevated experience for patrons from purchase to performance.

Season Highlights Include:

Riverside Dance Festival featuring Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami
Riverside Theatre | Waxlax Stage
August 6 – 8 | 7:30pm

Ballet Vero Beach is thrilled to present, in partnership with Riverside Theatre, the return of its sister company, Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami (DDTM). In celebration of their 10th Anniversary Season, DDTM brings a signature mix of work to the intimate Waxlax Stage at Riverside Theatre. Cool moves and red-hot beats define the company’s signature style. Help Ballet Vero Beach celebrate with our extended dance family to kick off the season.

Nutcracker on the Indian River
Riverside Theatre | Stark Stage
December 10 and 11 | 7:30pm
December 12 | 2:00pm

Nutcracker on the Indian River has become a local holiday tradition, and with a near sold out run last season in its inaugural run at Riverside Theatre, tickets will move fast.  The production retains all the whimsy and magic of the original ballet but moves the action to the year Vero was founded (1919). From land crabs to manatees and river otters to bougainvillea, this production has become an instant classic that takes all the magic of the stage and uses that magic to both entertain and inspire.
Subscription Series Program 1: Tribute
VBHS Performing Arts Center | Sammons Auditorium
January 22 | 7:30pm
January 23 | 2:00 and 7:30pm

As part of the Golden Jubilee celebration, Ballet Vero Beach is thrilled to present a rousing tribute to the birthday boy himself. To honor his keen eye, this program will feature the return of George Balanchine’s Glinka Pas De Trois, the company premiere of the pas de deux from Christopher Wheeldon’s Carousel: A Dance, and a world premiere, No. 1, by Artistic Director/CEO Adam Schnell. No. 1 will use Max Cruch’s soaring first violin concerto to pay homage to Rodriguez in all his many forms.
Subscription Series Program 2:  Classic Style
VBHS Performing Arts Center | Sammons Auditorium
February 26 | 7:30pm
February 27 | 2:00 and 7:30pm

A classic never goes out of style, and with Program 2 of the 2026-2027 Season, Ballet Vero Beach presents ballet at its best. Thrilling audiences since its premiere in 2021, The Sleeping Princess is everything a fairytale ballet should be and more. To make this program even more spectacular, the company will premiere its own unique take on the imperial era classic Raymonda’s Wedding. Two classics. All pomp. All bravura. All ballet.
Subscription Series Program 3: Solo Show
Riverside Theatre | Waxlax Stage
April 23 | 7:30pm
April 24 | 2:00 and 7:30pm

Camilo A. Rodriguez’s Golden Jubilee celebration continues with a program featuring solo works created for Ballet Vero Beach. Starting with the first work ever danced on a BVB program, Aprés, and ending with a world premiere by the master choreographer himself, this program will feature Camilo passing on many of his signature works to a new generation of Ballet Vero Beach dancers. Don’t worry, this is not a retirement gala; however, each performance will feature a festive toast with beloved Camilo. Cheers!
Subscription Series Program 4: New and Now
Riverside Theatre | Stark Stage
May 21 | 7:30pm
May 22 | 2:00 and 7:30pm

The celebratory season draws to a close with a forward-looking program featuring three world premieres. Gabrielle Lamb, Guggenheim Fellow and Artistic Director of Pigeonwing Dance, creates her first work for the company. Audience favorite Yanis Eric Pikieris delivers his third work for BVB, and Matthew Lovegood brings the stage a love letter to a former teacher and purveyor of true jazz dance technique for multiple decades.
