Riverside Theatre offers Comedy Zone on Fridays and Saturdays, 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Riverside’s showcase of professional comedians touring the comedy circuit takes the Waxlax Stage. May 23, Greg Hall and C.P. Post, May 29 and 30, Chris Machado and Devin Papayiannis.
Environmental Learning Center offers Walking Meditation on May 24 at 1:00 p.m. Walking meditation is a ‘meditation in motion,’ great for beginners and seasoned meditators alike. If our daily lives are defined by ‘going to’ or ‘coming from’, walking meditation is a practice of mindfulness and being present in the moment.
Ballet Vero Beach Presents: Spring Flings May 24, 2:00 p.m. In a season finale, George Balanchine’s original version of Valse Fantaisie (1953) makes its company premiere alongside Adam Schnell’s flirty ABBAsolutely, and Matthew Lovegood’s lush and windswept Caprice. Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center offers Space Coast Symphony’s Made in America: Side by Side on May 24 at 3:00 p.m. Enjoy an evening of emotion-packed music by four great American composers of the 20th century. Gershwin’s Second Rhapsody for piano and orchestra, Quiet in the Land, a Poem for Orchestra, John Williams’ triumphant Liberty Fanfare and Leonard Bernstein’s passionate Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.
Treasure Coast Chorale presents Let Freedom Ring May 24, 4:00 p.m. A memorable concert as we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States and at the same time honor our veterans both past and present as we “Let Freedom Ring.” Proudly wear red, white, and blue and join us. Vero Beach Museum of Art celebrates our Nation’s 250th year with American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection to June 7. This is an exhibition of more than 80 works by renowned American artists, including Benjamin West, Sarah Miriam Peale, Edward Moran, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri, and Charles Alston. The exhibit spans 250 years, with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries.
Art in Public Places Program sponsored by the Cultural Council of Indian River County is on exhibit in the Indian River County Administration Buildings A and B. “How Does Your Garden Grow” is the theme. This Artist Member Exhibit includes Grace Cormier, Tony Caruso, Joan Mercer, Sheila McAvoy and Yvonne Steere. On view to July 20.
