Voter Registration Deadline approaching for Nov 3 general election

The Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Office reminds all eligible residents that the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming General Election is Monday, October 5, 2026.

To be eligible to cast a ballot in the November 3, 2026 General Election, individuals must be registered to vote with the Supervisor of Elections office by the close of business on the deadline date.

To Register, You Must:

Be a U.S. citizen
Be a Florida resident
Be at least 18 years old (pre-registration allowed at age 16)
Be a legal resident of the county in which you seek to register
Not be adjudicated mentally incapacitated or convicted of a felony without having your rights restored

Supervisor of Elections Leslie Rossway Swan encourages all eligible voters to verify their voter registration status ahead of the deadline by visiting www.voteindianriver.gov or calling the office directly. “Don’t wait until the last minute to confirm your registration status, you don’t want to miss your opportunity to cast your vote in this important election,” said Supervisor Swan.

Registered voters who need to make updates to their voter record are encouraged to make these updates prior to Election Day to avoid any delays at the polls. Voters can make changes to their residential or mailing address within the State of Florida any of the following ways:

If you are submitting an address change (online, by phone, electronic means, or signed written notice), you must provide your date of birth and either your Florida Driver License number, Florida ID Card number, or the last four digits of your Social Security number, whichever may be verified in the supervisor’s records.
