Voting equipment testing to be held October 9

news release

The Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Office announces that a Logic and Accuracy Test of the voting and tabulation equipment to be used in the November 3, 2026 General Election will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 7:30 a.m.  The test will be conducted at the Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Office, located at 4375 43rd Avenue, Vero Beach.

This public test is conducted in accordance with Florida law to ensure that all voting and tabulation equipment is functioning properly.  During the test, pre-filled ballots are scanned through a random selection of the ballot scanners that will be used for vote-by-mail, early voting and Election Day voting to ensure that the scanners are reading every position on the ballot and counting votes accurately.

The ballot test deck is not only run through the tabulation equipment, but also the county’s independent auditing system. At the conclusion of the test, all voting equipment is sealed and secured in preparation for delivery to early voting sites and Election Day polling places.

“All voting and tabulation equipment to be used in the General Election will be thoroughly tested to ensure the integrity of the election process,” said Leslie Rossway Swan, Indian River County Supervisor of Elections.  “We welcome members of the public to attend the equipment testing and observe the process.”
