Obituaries: August 8, 2014

CarmichaelSUSAN L. CARMICHAEL, 62, died August 7, 2014 at her residence in Barefoot Bay. She was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts and lived in Barefoot Bay since March of 2014 coming from Abington, Massachusetts. She retired as an Office Manager in an Accounting Firm.
Survivors include husband of 29 years, Scott Carmichael of Barefoot Bay; daughter, Kimberly Nichols of Stannard, Vermont; son, Eric Cosman of Barefoot Bay; sister, Joan Callahan of Clayton, North Carolina; brothers, Casey Richard of Weymouth, Massachusetts and Mark Richard of Quincy, Massachusetts; 2 Granddaughters. She preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian, FL. A Prayer Service will be held 7:00 PM on Sunday August 10, 2014 at Strunk Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon John Dunlop, officiating. (8/8/14)

DOREEN J. KOCH, 97, passed away August 7, 2014 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. Doreen was born May 14th 1917 in Newark, New Jersey. Mrs. Koch moved to Vero Beach in 1982 coming from Skaneateles, NY. Before retirment, Mrs. Koch worked for the state of New York as an Examiner with the Workers Compensation Board in Syracuse. She traveled with her husband during WW II until he was sent over-seas. Doreen was an active volunteer with the Vero Beach Museum of Art and Indian River Medical Center. She belonged to MOAA as a charter member and Welcome Wagon.

Survivors are her son Ronald, daughter-in-law, Jan Detar; grandchildren, Natalie and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her parents Elsa and Joseph Gottsman; husband, Augustus A. Koch and step father Earl Lynch.

SchultzL. NOVA SCHULTZ-MARSHALL, 84, died peacefully August 7, 2014 at VNA Hospice House after a prolonged illness with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Loudon, Tennessee, and moved to Prophetstown, Illinois in 1965. She worked for 15 years as an independent contractor for Home Interiors and Gifts before moving to Sebastian in 1990, where she retired.
Nova was a member of King’s Baptist Church, Vero Beach, Florida where she served on many committees. She served as chairman of the Kitchen Committee for 17 years. She loved her church and all the people she served all those years. She loved spending time with her precious family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin (Al) Marshall; sons, Ronald Williams, Roger Williams and Larry Williams; sisters, Faye Bledsoe and Zula Hall; brothers, Bill Milsaps, Don Milsaps and Wallace Milsaps; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband, Bob Schultz; sisters, Dama Milsaps and Mary Caldwell; brothers, Lloyd Milsaps, Howard Milsaps, Henry Milsaps and Tommy Milsaps.

A memorial service will be held at the King’s Baptist Church, Vero Beach, August 19th, 2014 at 4:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. A Funeral will be held at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home, Prophetstown, with interment in Riverside Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
