The Emerging Leaders Program at Indian River State College has been selected as the winner of the 2017 Florida Campus Compact Award for student activities that partner with academic affairs to create career-ready, civic minded graduates.  Over 400 IRSC students have participated in the leadership program since 2015.

Open and free to all students, the IRSC Emerging Leaders Program provides students with opportunities to grow intellectually, professionally and socially.  Students participate in new experiences, gain skills, engage in campus events and community service and get the most out of their college experience.  The five pillars of the program are self-assessment, leadership development, civic engagement and developing a leadership perspective.

Florida Campus Compact is comprised of over 50 college and university presidents committed to helping students succeed.  The 2017 winning programs will be recognized at the Campus Compact Conference in November.
