WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13

The Center for Spiritual Care, 1550 24 Street is hosting the “Tropical Winds Concert on Wednesday, December 13 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.  Donations will be gratefully accepted.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14

Just in time for the holidays, the Emerson Center’s stage will host the Fort Pierce Jazz and Blues Society for a program of the season’s favorite musical treats served with a unique jazz and blues beat. The concert begins at 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 14 and admission is free.  The ensemble has devised a program that will rock the audience into Christmas with swinging, seasonal tunes designed to keep toes tapping until Santa clears the scene. Arrive early to meet the artist, Judy Burgarella now exhibiting, “Florida – Paradise Through the Eyes of an Artist” in the Foyer Gallery and enjoy a reception from 5 to 7 pm prior to the concert.  Guests are urged to stay after this performance for complimentary holiday refreshments. 

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 15

The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra brings the world-renowned brother-sister duo to perform a thrilling program on Friday, December 15 at First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Blvd in Vero Beach beginning at 7 pm.   Known for their high intensity performances, the Tekalli Duo will perform works by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Corigliano, Mozart, and more.  For tickets, visit SpaceCoastSymphony.org.

Comedy Zone – Holiday Nights features comedians Carl Guerra and Lenny Travis  with shows at 7:30 and 9:30 pm.

Live in the Loop free outside concerts begin at 6:30 pm with classic rock bands.  Friday night is Collins & Company and Saturday features Wiley Nash.  

Riverside Theatre For Kids:  A Christmas Story, The Musical – December 8-16.  Based on the movie classic, this Broadway musical, set in the 1940s in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts—an Official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle.  December 15 @ 7:30pm  December 16 @ 2:00 pm & 5:30pm.  Tickets: $10.  Visit RiversideTheatre.com

 

 
SATURDAY DECEMBER 16

Looking for a unique Christmas Concert to kick off your holiday season? Vero Beach will get the opportunity to be a part of the magic of Christmas while enjoying the Celtic Angels Christmas Concert, Saturday, December 16 at 7 pm at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center.  This awe-inspiring show encompasses vocal and instrumental seasonal favorites, and Irish contemporary and original Christmas themes with a Celtic twist, along with spectacular world-class champion Irish dancing.  Tickets are $35, available online at verobeachschools.tix.com, or call the box office at 772.564.5537.

The Environmental Learning Center’s Eco Talk series continues on Saturday, December 16 at 11 am when Dr. Richard Turner gives a fascinating talk about the importance and adaptation of the seagrasses of the Indian River Lagoon.  Visit DiscoverELC.org for details.

 

The Sebastian River Art Club’s Art By The River Fine Art Show will be held Saturday, December 16 (rain date December 17th) at Riverview Park, corner of SR 512 and US 1 from  10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The show features paintings, sculpture, wood and metal art, photography, pottery, prints, jewelry, art glass and more. SATURDAY & SUNDAY, DECEMBER 16 & 17

One of the world’s greatest oratorios will be presented on Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17 beginning at 7 pm.  at the First Baptist Church of Vero Beach as an annual Christmas gift to the Treasure Coast community.  Directed by the church’s Minister of Music and Worship, Dr. Michael Carter, “Messiah” will be performed by four professional soloists, instrumentalists of the Messiah Chamber Orchestra and a 100-voice chorus consisting of the church’s sanctuary choir, other local choir members and singers of the Treasure Coast Chorale.  Arrive early (doors open at 6 pm)  as both evenings are free with open seating.

A Citrus Christmas will be held on Saturday & Sunday, December 16 & 17 at Riverside Park from 10 am to 4 pm to benefit the Hope for Families Center.      This family fun event features, food, shopping, games and kids crafts, a wildlife show, Holiday music, Florida beers and a visit from Santa!  Free.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17

Forever in Blue Jeans, Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre’s popular show featuring the hits of Neil Diamond, returns to the Quilted Giraffe on Sundays during December and January.  Doors open at 4:30 pm for a gourmet dinner followed by the show at 6 pm.  The all-inclusive price is  $65 per person.  Call the Box Office at 772-252-9341 to reserve your space.
