IRSC has named Suzanne Seldes Director of Communications and Brand Strategy. In this role, Seldes serves as chief spokesperson for the College and leads the Institutional Advancement Department, which is responsible for all institutional media, marketing, communications and brand strategy programs.
Seldes comes to IRSC from The Strong museum in Rochester, New York, where she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. At the museum since 2008, Seldes was responsible for establishing institutional marketing strategy and leading The Strong’s public relations, advertising, membership, tourism, public programming, and technology groups, as well as directing nationally and internationally significant initiatives such as the museum’s National Toy Hall of Fame and World Video Game Hall of Fame programs. The Strong is the only collections-based museum in the world devoted to the study and exploration of play, and attracts more than 550,000 guests annually.
Prior to joining The Strong, Seldes spent 17 years with Rochester Business Journal, most recently serving as its Director of Advertising and Events. Her career experience also includes roles as a research manager with Gannett Rochester Newspapers and with CBS Radio Networks in New York, New York. Seldes earned her B.A. in economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
