McKee Botanical Garden announces winners of the annual waterlily photo contest

 McKee Botanical Garden is pleased to announce the winners of the 14th Annual Waterlily Photo Contest.

On Friday, June 16, three accomplished photographers judged almost 90 beautiful photos submitted by local residents and beyond. The judges selected a first, second and third place winner, as well as an honorable mention in the following adult categories (Color, Black and White, and Manipulated).  A Youth category for photographers 17 and under was also judged. During the Annual Waterlily Celebration, the public was given the opportunity to cast their vote for the “People’s Choice” award.

The list of winners include:

People’s Choice winner – “Queen of the Lilies” by Tim Hinkle, Jr., Vero Beach


1st Place – “Embers” by Skip Murphy, Sebastian

2nd Place – “Waterlily Dance” by Dawn Currie, Indian Harbour Beach

3rd Place – “Wild & Crazy Lily” by Billy Ocker, Sebastian

Honorable Mention – “The Glow” by David Bence, Vero Beach

Black and White

1st Place – “Shared Solitude” by Susan Grube, Sebastian

2nd Place – “Lily White” by Anne Malsbary, Vero Beach

3rd Place – “My Funny Valentine” by Linda L. Leonard, Vero Beach

Honorable Mention – “Nite Flite” by Skip Murphy, Sebastian


1st Place – “Dizzy Lilies” by Arlene Willnow, Fort Pierce

2nd Place – “Starship” by Skip Murphy, Sebastian

3rd Place – “Four Lilies” by Dawn Currie, Indian Harbour Beach

Honorable Mention – “Kiss Me” by Linda L. Leonard, Vero Beach


1st Place – “Fuschia Fantasy” by John Hepp, Jensen Beach
