TELL US YOUR STORY ABOUT THE CULTURAL ARTS VILLAGE!

The Cultural Arts Village Leadership Team is gathering information about 12 homes in the Village for three upcoming historical walking tours scheduled for November 3, 10 and December 1.  The  information for “If This House Could Talk” is being assembled by Anna Brady, a current resident of the Village. We would like to hear about your  or your family’s experiences in these homes to share during the walking tours.  If you grew up in the Village, lived in or knew any of the residents of these homes and are willing to share your stories, please send them to Anna by e-mail: historicvero@gmail.com. In addition, local artists will be creating posters specifically for the to tours that will be visual representations of the stories we gather. DOWNTOWN FRIDAY STREET PARTY

Main Street Vero Beach is hosting Downtown Friday on September 28 from 6 to 9 pm on 14th Avenue & 21st Street in Vero Beach. Enjoy music, food, drinks, kids’ activities. Alex and the Yesterdays is the featured band.  September’s theme is Be True to your School.  Wear your school colors or show your school spirit.  Free.

AT RIVERSIDE THEATRE

Howl at the Moon Experience – with  Rob Volpe & Ken Gustafson from  7:30  pm to 10:00 pm with seatings at 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm on September 28 & 29.

Live in the Loop – free outdoor concerts beginning at 6 pm with Red Hot Rooster (rock’n country) on Friday and Hired Guns (true country music) on Saturday. Tickets: riversidetheatre.com.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30

FREE DRIVE-THRU RABIES VACCINE CLINIC ON SUNDAY

Put Fido and Fluffy in the car and head over to the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB) on Sunday, September 30. That’s when the shelter will be offering county residents a free drive-thru rabies vaccination clinic from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. This free event is for dogs and cats belonging to Indian River County residents. Vaccinations will be available and administered on a first come, first serve basis.  HSVB’s free one-year rabies vaccinations will be offered to dogs and cats sixteen weeks of age or older. Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in carriers. Pet parents must show proof of Indian River County residency. The Vero Beach Museum of Art is pleased to announce Fall Term Art Class registration for adults now through the first week of classes which begin the week of October 1. Professional instructors are on-hand to address the needs of both beginners, intermediate and advanced students, with opportunities to explore painting, mixed media, drawing, photography, art history, jewelry, ceramics, and more.  Several new classes and workshops are being offered.  To find out more about fall classes at the Museum or to register visit www.vbmuseum.

Don’t miss the Cultural Council’s Annual Media Breakfast and Workshop on Wednesday, October 3 at the Vero Beach Elks Lodge, 1350 26th Street, Vero Beach from  8 am – 12 noon. Representatives from local print, radio, and electronic media outlets provide practical tips to nonprofit staff and volunteers about how best to publicize their charitable causes, special events and programs in our community.    To reserve, please submit $25 by mailing a check, calling the CCIRC office to use a credit card, or on-line via the website at https://cultural-council.org/non-profit-media-breakfast.  Advance reservation is required.

 

The City of Vero Beach Recreation Department will introduce a NEW mini gymnastics session at Leisure Square beginning October 9! The 2-week session offers gymnastics and aerial classes for ages 3 – 12. Take one class or up to 6 classes in the 2-week time period. Brush up on your gymnastics skills with the City of Vero Beach Recreation Department’s USA Gymnastics Safety Certified Instructors. MAXIMIZE YOUR ART BUSINESS BY SIGNING UP TODAY!

The Cultural Council of Indian River County encourages all artists and art related business owners to attend the first module of its new program.  The first module consists of three classes, all held on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:30 at the Masonic Lodge Building, 1957 14th Avenue in Vero Beach.  On October 10, Finance & Accounting will be taught by Jon Moses of Riverside Theatre; on October 24, Strategic Planning will be taught by Katha Kissman of Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute Foundation and on November 14, The Legal Side of Art will be taught by attorney, Cynthia VanDeVoorde Hall.  Each class is $25 for members of the CCIRC and $35 for non members.  To sign up: www.cultural-council.org/maximizing-your-art-business
