The Pelican Island Preservation Society is hosting the fourth annual Indian River Bird & Nature Art Show in conjunction with National Wildlife Refuge Week, October 14-20, 2018.
This year’s event will include the Bird & Nature Art Show with a plein air paint-out at the the Sebastian Art Club adjacent to the North Sebastian Conservation Area, a sunset pontoon boat cruise on the Indian River Lagoon to Pelican Island, and a featured speaker presentation.
Artwork entered in the show and created at the plein-air event will be on display for judging by Sebastian River Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Beth Mitchell, Indian River Lagoon Project communications director Kathy Hill and Vero Beach Art Club artist Lizdeil Ramos-Hering & enjoyment by & sale to the public in the gallery space located at the Sebastian River Art Club, 1245 Main Street, Sebastian. Proceeds benefit PIPS and the SRAC.

- Art Show – Friday, Plein Air artists paint 9-3pm. Reception 6 to 8pm; Saturday, Florida Scrub Jay tour with Jane Schnee 8am by donation, art show 9am to 5pm; Sunday, 9am to 4pm; free and open to the public
Capt. Hiram’s, 1606 Indian River Dr., Sebastian
- Featured Speaker – Missi Hatfield, National Wildlife Refuges and the Migratory Bird Treaty – 100 Years of Conservation, free/donations accepted, “Ramp Lounge” at Blackfins Riverfront Grill, Saturday, 3:30 to 4:30pm
- Sunset Wine & Cheese Cruise to Pelican Island onboard Capt. Hiram’s “River King,” Saturday, 5 to 7pm; $45/person, reservations required.
