Gather the family and come celebrate the season at McKee Botanical Garden with a rare opportunity to enjoy the Garden illuminated at night during Holidays at McKee and the Nights of Lights Celebration. McKee’s majestic palms and pathways will once again be adorned with thousands of colorful lights, whimsical lanterns and holiday décor on display throughout the Garden. In addition, the forecast is calling for scattered flurries.
Holidays at McKee begins on December 21 through December 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm nightly. The annual tradition of Holidays at McKee features the music of a 1924 Wurlitzer vintage band organ, an ever-expanding model train display, Department 56 holiday village display and photo opportunity with Santa and Mrs. Claus. A wide variety of holiday gifts will be available in McKee’s Garden Gift & Book Shop and the Garden Café will offer a special holiday menu of festive treats. A schedule of special entertainment during Holidays at McKee will feature the Imagine School Tangerine Music Group on December 21, McKee Melody Makers on December 22, and April French of Lady Sings the Blues Band on December 23.
The festivities will continue during McKee’s Nights of Lights Celebration beginning on Friday, December 28 through Sunday, December 30, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. nightly. The Garden will be illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights, additional lighting displays and lanterns and some of the popular features held over from Holidays at McKee, such as the 1924 Wurlitzer band organ, model train display and Department 56 holiday village.
“We love celebrating the holidays through our annual Holidays at McKee and Nights of Lights Celebration. For many of our members and guests, it has become a tradition to kick-off their holidays at McKee. We hope this tradition will continue for generations to follow,” stated Executive Director, Christine Hobart.
General admission rates apply: $12 Adults, $11 Seniors, and $8 Children ages 3-12. McKee members and children under 3 free.
The Garden will close at its regularly scheduled time of 5 pm and will reopen at 6 pm for the evening events. Separate admission is required. Advance tickets are available at the Garden Gift Shop during regular business hours.
