Archaeology Day event on January 19


The Old Vero Ice Age Sites Committee announces “Archeology Day,” part of Vero Beach’s Centennial Celebration on Saturday, January 19 from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Indian River State College campus, 6155 College Lane in Vero.

At this free public event, Indian River State College scientists and instructors archaeologist Dr. Kyle Freund and biologist Dr. Rob Lowery will join OVIASC project archaeologist and primary investigator Dr. Jim Adovasio and project geologist Dr. Frank Vento along with retired University of Florida archaeologist Dr. Barbara Purdy in a panel presentation and discussion of the continued significance of the Old Vero site in Florida history and science, recent research developments, new excavation plans in our County, and the expanding affiliation of OVIASC and IRSC.
