The Gifford Youth Orchestra will hold a free summer camp July 29 through August 2 for children between the ages of 8 and 18. The camp will take
place at the GYO Modular Unit (behind the Gifford Youth Achievement Center, 4875 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach) daily from 9 am to 4:30 pm. The summer camp, in its second year, “lets the children cool off in the pool, make new friends, and try out some new instruments,” says Dr. Crystal Bujol, the GYO’s co-founder and artistic director. “It introduces children who are not members to the Gifford Youth Orchestra and provides them some fun time learning a little more about music.” As well as the pool, the camp will offer music crafts, drumming, piano and string performances.
