Thursday, August 1

Join Joe Gramm, The Movie Man, at 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 1 at the North Indian River County Library in Sebastian for Classic Films with a Twist!  There will be a full length screening of the sizzling 1958 film Cat on a Hot Tin Roof starring movie legends Elizabeth Taylor & Paul Newman in the prime years of their careers. Free admission & refreshments.

The Aerial Antics Youth Circus is a unique production that combines gymnastics, dance and circus aerial acts into four amazing “Cirque du Soleil” style shows.  Choreographed routines will highlight the most popular crazes from the past thru present including the Charleston, 80’s and 90’s hip hop, modern lyrical, the Twist, Grease Lightning and many more.  There will also be a few “Vero” specific routine surprises!   Held at Saint Edward’s School on August 1, 2 and 3, show time each evening is 7 pm.  Tickets are available at Leisure Square and Riverside Racquet Complex for $8 – adults and $7 – children and seniors.

Riverside Back to School Party

RT Star’s Back To School Party:  On Saturday, August 3 from 10 am to 2 pm, this  FREE family event in partnership with the Education Foundation, learn about the educational opportunities offered at Riverside Theatre and by the local school communities.  Enjoy giveaways, hands-on activities, live performances, face painting, a bounce house, and entertaining contests.

Sunday, August 4

Free summer movies continue at the Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce on Sunday, August 4 with Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, starring Dominic Cooper, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan. Tickets are available in person only at the theatre’s box office located at 117 South Second Street, Ft. Pierce, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm,  Monday through Friday and two hours prior to each movie.  Limit 4 tickets per person.  Tickets are subject to availability.



The Symphony of the Americas completes its 31st Anniversary season celebration, Summerfest 2019, in Vero Beach, Sunday, August 11 at 3 pm at Christ by the Sea United Methodist Church.  Symphony of the Americas, a designated Major Cultural Institution in South Florida’s Broward County, presents internationally acclaimed guest artists from around the globe.

With this year’s sunny “sail away” theme, Summerfest 2019 brings the masterful sounds of its popular Chamber Orchestra, along with musicians and soloists from renowned orchestras throughout Europe to perform several styles of classical and popular music.

This year’s musicians in residence are from the Opera Orchestra of Sofia, Mission Symphony of Switzerland, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Rome Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Francais,   and others, all joined in a cultural exchange by principal musicians of the Symphony of the Americas.  Soloists are Angelo di Veroli from Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, Italy and Summerfest Concertmaster Orlando Forte from Cuba.

Artistic Director, Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, will lead a musical program featuring music of Humperdinck, Tartini, Mozart, Verdi, Elgar and

Stamitz.  Highlighted is a commissioned composition by Italian composer in residence, Lorenzo Turchi-Floris.
