COMMENTARY
MILT THOMAS

One of the great advantages of community-focused news is that most issues are not defined by party politics, but by what is important for the good of all residents. Nearly everyone agrees that something must be done about pollution in the Indian River Lagoon or beach parking. While there are differences on what must be done, those differences will ultimately be compromised on decisions we can all accept.
Not so on a state or national level. By introducing a national story that addresses those differences in a way we can all agree on, we might find a way to discuss them without the normal rancor that comes with politics. From time to time we will offer news items and other articles from outside our great county that might be of interest to local readers, not just in the political arena, but also about what is going on in the world.
I appreciate the exposure you give to important issues in our community. Thank you, Milt.
