Riverside Theatre’s Live in the Loop Outdoor Grill and Bar reopened and is offering two dining experiences: outdoor dining with live music and indoor dining with comedy. CDC and State guidelines on reopening casual dining will be followed for outdoor dining in The Loop and indoor dining in the Waxlax. Tickets to Live in the Loop are free, but must be obtained on the website: http://www.RiversideTheatre.com. There is a limit of 4 tickets per household. Live in the Loop, bands start performing at 6pm. Open at 5:30pm.

The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra presents Broadway Gender Bender, August 28
Close your eyes and imagine your favorite song from musical theater. Got it? Now imagine that same song performed by a member of the opposite sex! With the help of professional singers from Winter Park-based Central Florida Vocal Arts, the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will present Broadway Gender Bender. The final concerts in a summer series of fresh air concerts, Broadway Gender Bender will celebrate the essential workers. Filled with popular songs from decades of musicals, as well as some of opera’s most recognizable tunes, with six of Central Florida’s most talented professional vocalists: Mezzo-soprano Morgan Davis, sopranos Sarah Stead and Desiree Montes, baritones Jacob Pence and David Bracamonte; and tenor, Bryan Hayes. Musicians from the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will play their instruments safely separated from each other, while concert attendees can remain in their cars and tune their radios to the live feed, or set up their own seating next to their vehicles.

VBMA Exhibition Avery to Warhol Through- January 3, 2021 The VBMA Avery to Warhol is an exhibition of our new Senior Curator, Anke Van Wagenberg’s selections from the vault. The exhibition will showcase a recent gift to the collection, Henry Hubbell’s Portrait of Three Sisters. From this 1903 painting, we will virtually travel through the twentieth century from the paintings by Milton Avery to Andy Warhol and not only contemporary masters but also selections of the glass collection of the VBMA. McKee Botanical Garden has been selected as a beneficiary of the Winn-Dixie’s Community Bag Program for the Month of August by store leadership at the Winn-Dixie located at 2950 9th Street SW (Oslo Road) in Vero Beach. Environmental Learning Center is presenting a new and exciting event— Indian River’s Got Talent! Dust off your tap shoes, tune your guitar and practice your magic tricks— Get your act together, because Indian River’s Got Talent has arrived! This new and entertaining event is in the works, and we are now accepting submissions for our youth division. Submit an up to two-minute video of any talent suitable for public viewing to DiscoverELC.org/IRGT. Cell phone videos are accepted. Submission: 12th grade and younger submissions extended to November 15.
Adult submission deadline will be announced soon. Sing, dance, play a musical instrument, perform a comedy or magic act, show off your sports moves and show us your talent! The categories for our youth division will be segmented by grade— Elementary School (Grades K-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8) and High School (Grades 9-12). Submissions can be one person or up to as many participants as you would like. Please only submit one entry. Indian River’s Got Talent is now FREE to enter. All who enter will receive two free admission tickets to the ELC. Scholarships are available to cover the cost of the entry fee. Please email IRGT@DiscoverELC.org for questions.

The Annual Juried Art Exhibition “The Best of the Best” is Accepting Entries beginning September 9 at the A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery. Accepting artist applications by advance appointments on Wednesdays–Sundays until 3:00 pm, beginning on Wednesday, September 9 through Friday, October 2, 2020. The application is open to amateur and professional artists with a $30 entry fee per work. A full prospectus with guidelines and application is available to download from the Museum’s website at www.BackusMuseum.org or it can be picked up starting September 9 at the Museum located at 500 North Indian River Drive in Historic Downtown Fort Pierce, Florida.
