Free residential paper shredding event Apr 15

The County will hold a Spring Residential Shredding Event between 8am and noon on Saturday, April 15th, at Southeast Secure Shredding, located at 3910 US #1, Vero Beach.

The IRC Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD) and Waste Management, Inc., of Florida (WM) in partnership with Southeast Secure Shredding, will host the event at no charge to residents of Indian River County.

Shredded paper cannot be recycled curbside and should never be placed in the blue recycling cart.   “This is a free option for residents,” said Himanshu Mehta, Managing Director, SWDD.  Participation is limited to one drop-off per vehicle, per household. 

Documents will be securely shredded by certified professionals.  Details are below:

  • Maximum 3 boxes/bags per vehicle (35 pound limit)
  • One car load per household – only one time through please
  • Staples and paperclips are acceptable
  • No binders or hanging folders
  • Pre-shredded paper is acceptable (up to 3 bags)
  • IRC Residents Only – No businesses please
  • Limited to first 800 cars so come early
