The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce invites residents and visitors alike to experience a full day of sun, surf, and community spirit at the Longest Day • Longest Ride Alzheimer’s Charity Event and Locals Luau, taking place Saturday, June 20 at Sebastian Inlet State Park.

Running from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, this vibrant, family-friendly event features a surf contest, beach activities, and a tropical-themed luau celebration, all in support of the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. The event also showcases the Sebastian area as a premier coastal destination where visitors can enjoy authentic experiences while supporting a meaningful cause. Admission to the Sebastian Inlet for this event is just $2 per vehicle.

Held in recognition of The Longest Day, a global fundraising effort led by the Alzheimer’s Association, the event symbolizes bringing light to the darkness of Alzheimer’s through community action and awareness. Organizers have set a fundraising goal of $5,000.

A Day of Fun with a Purpose and Place

Attendees can expect a full lineup of activities for all ages, including:

  • Surf contest for all skill levels
  • Live music and beachside entertainment by Adam Azar
  • Family-friendly games and activities hosted by Long Doggers and Banker’s Life

Showcasing the Power of Tourism

Events like this play an important role in driving visitation, supporting local businesses, and strengthening the area’s economy. By attracting participants and spectators from beyond the immediate community, the Longest Day • Longest Ride event helps generate overnight stays, restaurant visits, retail activity, and increased visibility for the Sebastian River Area.

“Tourism is a powerful economic driver for our community, and events like this showcase some of the very best of what Sebastian has to offer,” said Nicholas Sanzone. “Visitors are not only enjoying a beautiful destination, they are also contributing to a cause that impacts families everywhere.”

Supporting a Critical Cause

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurological condition affecting millions of Americans, with no known cure. Events like The Longest Day mobilize communities worldwide to raise awareness and funding for research and support services for those impacted.
