United Way of Indian River County has welcomed Jamie Bell as Chair of its Board of Directors and three new members to its board: Cynthia G. Scott, Meredith “MJ” Sihombing, and Matt Tanner.

Bell is the Owner and President of Complete Trust Insurance Agency in Vero Beach and has been a member of the United Way board since 2022. He has also served on the boards of the Mental Health Association in Indian River County and the Youth Sailing Foundation of Indian River County. A longtime Indian River County resident, Bell is committed to bringing people together to strengthen the place he calls home.

“I’ve learned a lot during my time on the United Way board, and I’ve seen firsthand what happens when people come together and turn good ideas into real action,” said Bell. “I’m excited to take on this role and help move that work forward. This is where the rubber meets the road, where we take what we know about the needs of our community and work together to do something about them.”

United Way also extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Katie Nall, who concludes her two-year term as board chair. Her dedication and commitment to Indian River County have made a lasting difference, and United Way is grateful for all she has done to move its mission forward.

Cynthia G. Scott brings extensive experience in child advocacy and services for victims of child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. She retired in 2022 as Executive Director of The Safe Center LI, Inc. and has held board positions with several nonprofits.

Meredith “MJ” Sihombing is a Store Manager with Publix Super Markets, where she has built a 22-year career in customer service and team building. She is dedicated to supporting others, creating positive experiences for customers and associates, and giving back to her community.

Matt Tanner is the Executive Director of United Against Poverty in Vero Beach and brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, workforce development, and strategic partnerships. He is passionate about expanding opportunities and helping people achieve stability.

The United Way Foundation of Indian River County also welcomes Susan Chenault to the Board of Directors. A dedicated resident and recently retired Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Advisor with Northern Trust, Chenault has been involved with numerous local organizations, including United Way.

“We’re really excited about this group,” said Meredith Egan, CEO of United Way of Indian River County. “They each bring something different to the table, but they all care deeply about this community and want to be part of the work. Jamie has been a great partner on our board, and I’m excited to see him step into this role.”
