Indian River County’s Community Forum Series continues next month with two public sessions on Amendment 3 and its potential local impacts.
The Amendment 3 forums are the latest installment of the series, which gives residents an opportunity to hear directly from County leadership and subject matter experts, learn about local issues, and ask questions. Earlier forums have addressed workforce, career and military pathways.
Commission Chair Deryl Loar and County Administrator John A. Titkanich Jr. will discuss what Amendment 3 proposes, how local property taxes support County services, and what the measure could mean locally. The discussion will include public safety, roads and infrastructure, parks and recreation, libraries, Veterans Services, and other County services.
Both sessions will cover the same information:
- Friday, October 9, 2026 | 10:30 a.m. to noon
Intergenerational Recreation Center - Wednesday, October 14, 2026 | 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The forums are educational and informational. Staff will explain what is known, what remains unknown, and the difference between preliminary local estimates and decisions that have not been made. Residents will have an opportunity to ask questions.

The Community Forum Series will continue with additional topics throughout the year. Following the Amendment 3 forums, the County’s Community Services team is planning a roundtable discussion on children and young adults with special needs, bringing together families, community partners and other stakeholders for a broader community conversation. Additional information will be shared as details are finalized.
