Hope for Families Center announces leadership team

news release

The Hope for Families Center (HFC) is pleased to announce an expanded leadership structure to support ongoing growth and strengthen its commitment to families experiencing homelessness in our community.

Under this new structure, Marty Mercado has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, Stephanie Rennolds Executive Director, Molly Mills Chief Financial Officer, and April Peterson Director of Case Management.

These appointments mark an important new chapter for The Hope for Families Center and recognize the experience, dedication, and leadership each individual brings.

These changes follow a period of significant growth for HFC. The recent campus expansion increased emergency shelter rooms from 21 to 41, added nine transitional apartments, and added an administration building. This expanded capacity enables HFC to serve more families and broaden its programs, operations, financial oversight, and case management services.

Each leadership team member will focus on a key area to support HFC’s growth. Marty Mercado, Chief Executive Officer, will provide strategic leadership with an emphasis on sustainability, community partnerships, advocacy, and advancing the mission. Stephanie Rennolds, Executive Director, will manage daily operations and collaborate with staff to ensure programs meet the changing needs of HFC families. Molly Mills, Chief Financial Officer, will oversee financial operations to maintain HFC’s fiscal strength and support future growth. April Peterson, Director of Case Management, will lead the case management team, guiding families toward stability and permanent housing.

“As our campus has grown, so has our responsibility to the families who depend on us,” said Mercado. “This expanded leadership team gives us the structure we need for the future while allowing us to remain focused on what has always mattered most: helping families move from homelessness toward stability, independence, and permanent housing. I am incredibly proud of Stephanie, Molly, and April and look forward to all that we will accomplish together.”

“These leadership appointments reflect both how far The Hope for Families Center has come and our confidence in the future,” Mercado added. “Growth brings new opportunities and new responsibilities, and we are fortunate to have a talented and committed team ready to lead HFC into its next chapter.”

The Hope for Families Center is the largest shelter and program on the Treasure Coast dedicated to families experiencing homelessness.  Through safe shelter and comprehensive support services, HFC partners with families to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring.
