Seeds of Hope Garden takes root at The Hope for Families Center

news release

The Hope for Families Center is excited to announce a new way hope is taking root. With support from Cleveland Clinic and the hard work of community partners, volunteers, staff, and families, the Center is launching the Seeds of Hope Garden. This sustainable garden will help nourish both bodies and spirits and lay the groundwork for a brighter future.

A dedication ceremony is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. to celebrate the teamwork and generosity that made this project possible.

The Seeds of Hope Garden is more than a spot for fresh vegetables. It stands for growth, resilience, and new beginnings. Families at the Center will have access to healthy food, and children can learn about gardening, healthy eating, sustainability, and caring for living things.

For families overcoming homelessness, the garden is also a reminder that real growth takes time, patience, care, and strong roots.

“The Seeds of Hope Garden is a beautiful reflection of what we strive to accomplish every day at The Hope for Families Center,” said Marty Mercado, Chief Executive Officer. “Just as a garden needs strong roots, care, and attention to flourish, families need a foundation of stability, encouragement, and opportunity to thrive. We are deeply grateful to Cleveland Clinic and everyone who helped turn this vision into reality.”

The garden shows what community partnerships can achieve. With Cleveland Clinic’s support and the efforts of partners, volunteers, staff, and families, an idea has grown into a resource that will help families for years.

The Seeds of Hope Garden builds on that mission by encouraging healthy habits, responsibility, teamwork, and the satisfaction of seeing hard work pay off.

With every seed planted, every lesson learned, and every harvest shared, the garden will serve as a living reminder that with care, patience, and strong roots, hope can grow.
