The Mardy Fish Children’s Foudnation is pleased to announce Mellisa Medlock as the Foundation’s newly hired Director of Finance. Melissa is a Vero Beach native who earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accounting at University of Central Florida in Orlando. She has experience in both the private and public sectors. After moving back to Vero Beach, Melissa passed the CPA exam in 2008.

Melissa has been involved with many community organizations such as the United Way, Humane Society of Vero Beach, Homeless Family Center, American Cancer Society and Literacy Services. She is currently serving on the Literacy Services of Indian River County board of directors as well as the United Way of Indian River County board of directors.

Outside of her professional life, Melissa is married to Greg Medlock and they have three children, Peyton, Kassidy and Jillian. When not working, Melissa can be found spending time with family enjoying the Indian River on their boat or at the beach.

The Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation has taken over the management of the $10,000 “Futures” tennis tournament – one of the longest-running and best-attended events on the U.S. Tennis Association Pro Circuit. The Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation Tennis Championships

Mardy Fish is a top-ranked U.S. tennis professional dedicated to supporting the youth in his hometown of Vero Beach, FL.  Started in 2007, the non-profit Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation currently supports over 2100 children in 13 elementary schools, six middle schools, IRC Homeschool Association and two afterschool centers in Indian River County, FL by providing after-school exercise, nutritional and enrichment programs in a safe environment to prepare them for healthy, productive and successful lives.  The Foundation introduced the “Six Healthy Habits” in 2012 which are Get Sleep; Drink Water; Exercise Daily, Eat Healthy; Brush and Floss; Make Friends.”
