SUPPORT THE CULTURAL ARTS VILLAGE

Take a ride around the Cultural Arts Village in downtown Vero Beach to see the mini-murals created by local students and professional artists to raise money for the infrastructure development of the Village.  Residents are displaying murals in front of their homes.  These murals are painted on plywood and are 32 x 48 inches in size.  Each mural is for sale for the price of $350.  To see the murals being displayed and the addresses to visit, go online to VeroBeachCulturalArtsVillage.com.  You may purchase the murals currently available with a credit or debit card via PayPal on the website.  In addition, a mural by Sharon Morgan is at the Marine Bank on US 1 and a mural by Carol Bennett is at Marine Bank on Beachland Blvd.  

THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY, DECEMBER 28 -30

Brighten up your holidays at McKee Botanical Garden with Nights of Lights  from Thursday, December 28 through Saturday, December 30 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm each evening.  This celebration features thousands of glimmering lights, luminaria lined pathways, spectacular lighting displays in the ponds and waterways, and another opportunity to see the model train display and listen to the vintage band organ. Admission is $12 Adults, $11 Seniors, $8 Children ages 3-12, members and children under 3 free. 

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 29

NUTCRACKER ON THE INDIAN RIVER AT VBHS PAC

Join Ballet Vero Beach for a thrilling milestone to celebrate its fifth anniversary season, the world premiere of Nutcracker on the Indian River. The  Sunrise Theatre in downtown Fort Pierce presents the State Ballet Theatre of Russia bringing the world’s most beloved ballet, The Nutcracker, to glorious life! This company of 60 distinguished dancers has showcased the unparalleled art of Russian ballet to countries throughout the world.  Families will enjoy this Holiday performance with magical toys, falling snow, growing Christmas trees, and astounding ballet moves.   The performance is on Friday, December 29 at 7 pm.  For tickets ($ $55/$45/$20), visit SunriseTheatre.com.

Howl at the Moon – Kiss 2017 Goodbye Party features musicians Rhoda Johnson and Ken Gustafson with shows at 7:30 and 9:30 pm.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 30

NIGHT SOUNDS AT SEBASTIAN INLET STATE PARK

Sebastian Inlet State Park will hold the Night Sounds concert series on Saturday, December 30, from 7 to 9 pm.  The band, Alize, will perform their line-up of reggae music as well as Island, SOCA, Top 40, Funk, Soft Rock and even a little country.   The concert will take place at the pavilions on Coconut Point, located on the south side of Sebastian Inlet. The concert is free with regular park entry fees.
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31

RING IN THE NEW YEAR!

The Vero Beach Elks Lodge, 1350 26th Street, is hosting a New Year’s Eve Dinner with entertainment on Sunday, December 31.  Enjoy cocktails beginning at 6 pm followed by dinner with a choice of Prime Rib or Salmon.  Entertainment begins at 7 pm with Theatre-Go-Round performing.  Tickets are $70 per person and may be purchased by calling the Lodge at (772) 562-8450.

 Vero Heritage is hosting a New Year’s Eve party on Sunday, December 31 at the Heritage Center on 14th Avenue.  Doors open at 9:30 pm with entertainment by the Landsharks Band (Jimmy Buffet tribute band), dinner by 14 Bones, a Parrot Head Costume Contest and Champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $80 for VIP’s (meet the band, enjoy one free cocktail and get a free raffle ticket to win a Landsharks t-shirt) and $50 regular admission.  Tickets are available at the Heritage Center or online at EventBrite.  Call 772-770-2263.

Release those things that no longer serve you during New Year’s Eve Burning Bowl Ceremony at 6 pm at Unity Spiritual Center, 950 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach on December 31.

The A.E. Bean Backus Gallery & Museum, 500 N. Indian River Drive in Fort Pierce, is offering art classes beginning in January as well as a number of informative  lectures beginning January 23. The Treasure Coast Youth Symphony presents the Academy Orchestra with pianist Lindsay Garritson performing Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.  The performance will held on Wednesday, January 3 at 4 and 6 pm at the Lyric Theatre in Stuart.  For tickets, visit LyricTheatre.com.
