PIRATE FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND AT RIVERSIDE PARK

The Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce presents Pirate Fest at Riverside Park from Friday, September 21 through Sunday, September 23.  This festival commemorates the loss of the 1715 Treasure Fleet.  This year’s Vero Beach Pirate Fest will feature historical and living history reenactments, various themed and supporting vendors, interactive games, a Little Buccaneer Kid’s Zone, costume contests and activities, treasure hunts, live music, mermaids and entertainment for all ages. It will also showcase exhibits of art, authentic weaponry, artifacts and treasure displays by world famous treasure hunters, historians and authors in a 3-day, family-friendly environment.  From delicious Seafood to cool refreshing tasty treats, there is something for everyone at the Vero Beach Pirate Fest.  For more information, visit http://www.verobeachpiratefest.com.

DOWNTOWN FT. PIERCE ART WALK THIS FRIDAY

The  September Art Walk in Fort Pierce will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, September 21.  Seriously Mixed Media, 207 Orange Avenue, will be presenting new works by the gallery artists.  While downtown, make sure to visit the many galleries, shops and restaurants.  Visit SeriouslyMixedMedia.com to see the artists’ diverse artworks.

 

The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting an Opioid Crisis Summit to raise awareness of opioid  and prescription drug abuse on Friday, September 21 at the City Council office, 1225 Main Street in Sebastian from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  This summit will be of interest to at risk individuals, family and friends of at risk individuals, those who have experienced trauma and are self-medicating as well as recipients of a prescription for pain medication.  For more information, call the Sebastian Chamber at 772.589.5969.

LADIES OF SOUL AT SEBASTIAN INLET STATE PARK

Night Sounds at Sebastian Inlet State Park Concert Series presents The Ladies of Soul and the LOS Band on Saturday, September 22 from 7 to 9 pm.  The Ladies of Soul are three singers backed by the four piece LOS Band. They play music inspired by great rhythm and blues, dance, funk and classic party tunes. Known for tight harmonies and high energy, The Ladies of Soul connect with the audience. Their fun show is contagious with dancing to your favorite party and dance classics. The concert will take place at the pavilions on Coconut Point, located on the south side of Sebastian Inlet. The concert is free with regular park entry fees.

 

IndieFlix, a leading independent online streaming platform, along with its non-profit arm, the IndieFlix Foundation, is sparking a global conversation about anxiety through screenings of its brand-new documentary, Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety.  On September 22 from 9:00 am to noon. Sunrise Rotary Vero Beach will hold a special screening of the documentary at the Emerson Center to open up a dialogue between local families, community leaders and experts.
