The  Vero Beach Museum of Art has a new exhibit. Victorian Radicals: From the Pre-Raphaelites to the Arts & Crafts Movement features approximately 145 works by pioneering British artists. Victorian Radicals will represent the spectrum of avant-garde practices of the Victorian era, emphasizing the response of Britain’s first modern art movement to the unfettered industrialization of the period. These artists’ attention to detail, use of vibrant colors, and engagement with both literary themes and contemporary life are illustrated through a selection of paintings, drawings, and watercolors presented alongside outstanding examples of decorative art.  On view through May 15. The Raw Space Gallery, 1795 Old Dixie Highway in Vero Beach presents A New Language by Pablo and Harak Rubio, featuring paintings and sculptures by these Puerto Rican artists with a reception on Thursday, March 7 from 5 to 9 pm.

FRIDAY, MARCH 8 THROUGH MARCH 17

The Indian River County Firefighters Fair will be held at the IRC Fairgrounds from March 8 – 17. FRIDAY, SATURDAY & SUNDAY, MARCH 8 -10

The Vero Beach Art Club presents the 68th Annual Under the Oaks Fine Art & Crafts Show at Riverside Park on Friday & Saturday (9 am to 5 pm) and Sunday (10 am – 4 pm), March 8 – 10.  Over 230 artists from around the county will display their works in this popular juried show.  There will be a food court with many delicious choices.  Admission is free.

SATURDAY,  MARCH  9

The Indian River Genealogical Society’s Introduction to Genealogy class, will be held at the Indian River County Main Library. Three sessions will be held on  March 9, 16 and 22 from 10 am to noon.  Call (772) 444-7470.

The Oceanside Business Association presents the Landsharks Band at its Sunset Saturday Night Concert on March 9 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm on Ocean Drive at Humiston Park.  Free.

The Pelican Island Preservation Society presents the 27th Annual Pelican Island Wildlife Festival on Saturday, March 9 from 10 am to 4 pm at Riverview Park in Sebastian.  Activities include live wildlife demonstrations, wildlife educational presentations and exhibits, arts, crafts, food vendors and more!  Admission is Free!

Indian River Habitat for Humanity is hosting an island-themed event,  “Jamaican Me Crazy” on Saturday, March 9 at the Sun Aviations Hangar from 6 to 10 pm. Enjoy jamaican & island music, food and beverages with the flavors of the islands, and a kaleidoscope of dancing and entertainment. Distinguished Lecturer Series: On Monday, March 11 Paul Ryan, 54th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, will be the guest lecturer for Riverside Theatre’s Distinguished Lecturer Series. His topic will be: “Policy Insight Gleaned from Two Decades in Congress.”  Lecture times are 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.. Young Irelanders

The Young Irelanders, a select group of young Irish performers, bring the energetic “Wild Atlantic Way Tour” to Vero Beach, at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, March 12 at 7 pm.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit H.A.L.O. SPRING BREAK CAMPS FOR KIDS

Create At Studio MA, 835 27th Street #106 in Vero Beach is holding Spring Break Art Camp from 9 am to noon, Monday – Friday from March 11 through 22. There will be creative fun for three hours each day for Ages 5-12.  The cost is $35 per child per day.  Contact: marthaann@createatstudioma.com.

Register now for the City of Vero Beach Recreation Department’Spring Break Cheer Camp (ages 7 and older) from March 18 through March 22. This is a fun filled week of learning cheers, chants, jumps, stunts, dances, gymnastics, making great friends and so much more along with and end of camp exhibition.
