TC Jazz Society March 7th Concert

NEWS RELEASE

Saturday March 7th the Treasure Coast Jazz Society bring the New Orleans Nighthawks to Vero Beach Yacht Club at 12:30 with a lunch at 11:30 by RSVP.
The New Orleans Nighthawks have been playing together about 8 years. Most of the Band members are “snowbirds” and come to Florida only during Oct – April. Each is a jazz veteran of other jazz bands from up north as well. The Nighthawks play regularly in the Lake Wales Florida area. The band’s style might be thought of as a combination of Hot TRAD and Swing.
Band personnel is made up of a solid rhythm section fronted by the Band’s leader; John Skillman on Clarinet. The addition of two trombone players in the band in 2010, (Glen Carlton and Gordon Moore), make the voicing and arrangement most unique among TRAD bands.  Pat Gulotta performs with the Tommy Dorsey orchestra as soloist and lead trombone.  He also plays with “Michael Andrew and Swingerhead”, was a regular at B.B. King’s Blues Club for many years, and toured with the popular festival jazz band “The Black Dogs”.

With the proceeds of all of the TC Jazz Society concerts Jazz Scholarships are given each year to area youth to preserve the music style. To donate or to buy tickets visit www.tcjazzsociety.com or call 772-234-4600 to RSVP.
