Environmental Learning Center is hosting a I “Heart” Art Artist Meet and Greet for Judy Burgarella and Shotsi Cain LaJoie on Wednesday, February 16th from 4:30-6:30pm. The public is invited meet the artists and stroll the two galleries featuring their nature inspired artwork. Wild Thyme Catering, Sailfish Brewery and Robin Burgarella with Dale Sorenson Real Estate are sponsoring the refreshments. Guests are asked to RSVP to Sue Harr at Sue@DiscoverELC.org and a $5 donation is suggested.
Judy Burgarella is an award-winning artist who has studied under renowned teachers in Connecticut and Florida. She works in many mediums and subjects with her favorite being portraiture. This exhibit is called “Florida’s Natural Treasures” and features Judy’s nature inspired paintings and sculptures in the Tidal Gallery.
Shotsi Cain LaJoie has named her ELC show, Art, Rowing, Color and The Lagoon. Her work is abstract expression, and the artwork is inspired by her morning rowing time. This exhibit is the first time Shotsi has paired her photography with paintings, and it is in the ELC’s Lagoon Room.
The ELC is committed to displaying artwork from a wide diversity of artists and artwork mediums that align with their mission to educate, inspire, and empower all people to be active stewards of the environment and own well-being. Environmental Learning Center is open seven days a week and Shotsi Lajoie and Judy Burgarella’s show is on display through the end of February. Environmental Learning Center is a nonprofit nature park located at the western foot of the Wabasso Bridge on the Indian River Lagoon.
