Jonathan Orozco GPC, Development Director of The Source, was the featured guest speaker for the monthly Kiwanis Club of Vero Beach, held on Wednesday, August 19 at the Vero Beach Yacht Club.

Orozco shared an overview of what the Source has been accomplishing in their goal of eradicating homelessness in Vero Beach. Their blueprint to success includes a wide spectrum of programs and services, affordable housing for their members and plans for their continued growth of their latest community, Dignity Ranch. The Ranch, purchased in 2025, is located on 30-acres past the Outlet Center on the west end of Vero Beach, and offers a “homeless to home” atmosphere complete with residential living to eventually accommodate 99 individuals. The Kiwanis members also learned about The Source’s upcoming event, “Hidden Faces 2026 From Homeless to Home,” Saturday, November 7 at Dignity Ranch and were offered the opportunity to tour the property.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. They are a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive.

To that end, The Vero Beach club has played a key role in working within the community on an unlimited number of events that include in part, Key Club (3 high schools and several grade schools, “Kids Fishing Tournament (since 1993), Youth in Action (Projects involving house painting, erecting handicap ramps, Shining Light Garden work projects… all for low income households or non-profits), annual golf tournament fundraisers, mission trips in Florida and beyond, Beach clean ups and more. I am Ministries DBA The Source, is a Christian social outreach ministry that has been empowering communities into a lifestyle of service for the homeless, needy and families of Indian River County (IRC) since 1995.  Local residents in need may visit their full-service reSource Center to become a member, receive a membership card, and begin their journey to restoring their lives. In doing so, The Source provides a wide range of Dignity Programs, housing through the Dignity Bus Mobile Shelters and other nearby housing facilities, restaurant-style hot meals, clothing provisions, counseling services, support groups, hygiene amenities, access to showers, mail and telephone facilities, and referrals for benefits through core programs and services that instill a sense of community. Their goals are to move individuals from a membership to a neighbor and to ultimately eliminate homelessness in Indian River County.
