Richard E. Gillespie, 83, died December 28, 2013 at his residence in Vero Beach. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts and lived in Pelham, NH and wintered in Vero Beach, FL since 1969, moving permanently to Vero Beach in 2000. He graduated from Lowell High School, Massachusetts in 1948 and continued his education at Indian River Community College receiving his Associate Degree. He was a US Navy veteran and served aboard the USS Perry DD-844. He retired from the Naval Shipyard at Boston in 1970. He was a member of the American Legion, Concord, NH and was active in USS Perry, DD844, Reunions. He was also a former member of the Indian River Region AACA antique car club. Survivors include daughters Kathleen Gillespie and Shirley Endicott (Paul) of Vero Beach, son Richard P. Gillespie also of Vero Beach, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley C. Gillespie and a grandson Richard E. Gillespie. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at Sebastian Cemetery, Sebastian, FL 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2014. Sebastian Area Veterans Color Guard will give military honors. Constantine Ginopoulos, 86, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at his residence in Vero Beach, FL.Constantine was born in Derry PA and had been a resident of Vero Beach.Constantine was a sculptor. He was of the Greek Orthodox Faith.Survivors include his wife Bessie Ginopoulos. There will be a graveside service Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 2:00pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL. Jean Whitford Wood, nee Peterson, 90, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away December 28, 2013, at Grace Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 27, 1923, in Jersey City, NJ, and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1975, coming from Wayne, NJ, where she taught high school mathematics.Jean is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Whitford of Gainesville, FL, Pamela (Larry) Kinker of Warrington, PA, and Diane (Russ) Stenzel of Vero Beach, FL; sons, Douglas (Mary) Whitford of New Orleans, LA, and Gregory (Allison) Whitford of Gainesville, FL; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husbands, Harry Whitford in 1964 and David Wood in 2011 and her brother, Donald Peterson.
