Mckee Botanical Garden hosts 2nd annual Garden & Antique Show and Sale March 15-17

McKee Botanical Garden is hosting its 2nd Annual Garden & Antique Show and Sale on Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17.  This event will feature a vast selection of exceptional and distinct antique furniture, paintings, outdoor garden benches and fountains, garden accessories, statuary, oriental rugs, estate jewelry, and more. Last year’s event was attended by over 2,690 visitors and the Garden is anticipating an even larger attendance this year.

McKee Botanical Garden is working in conjunction with Charlie Miller of Miller, Hamilton & Co. located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to present this magnificent collection of antiques, art and garden accessories that will be on display throughout the Garden. This year’s show will showcase distinguished antique and art vendors and purveyors from along the Eastern U.S., including Beach Antiques (Rehoboth, MA), Beth Poindexter Luxe (Greensboro, NC), D. R. Whether you are a garden enthusiast looking for some unique pieces for your garden, an ardent antique collector, or just looking for inspiration for your home, this show has something for even the most discriminating collector. Our experienced and knowledgeable antique and art purveyors will be available throughout the show to answer any questions you may have.

The show hours are Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16, from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, March 17, from 10 am to 4 pm.  In addition to the Garden & Antique Show and Sale, visitors will have an opportunity to enjoy Seward Johnson’s Celebrating the Familiar Sculpture Exhibition featuring twenty life-scale bronze sculptures depicting what Johnson refers to as “the beautiful moments in ordinary life.” In addition, Johnson’s world renowned monumental 25 ft. tall sculpture, Embracing Peace, which is the centerpiece of this exhibition, is also on display in the Royal Palm Grove where visitors can admire its grandeur and beauty. This sculpture of a sailor and nurse embracing was inspired by the moment in New York City on V-J Day, August 14, 1945, that captured the jubilance of Americans when the end of World War II was announced.  The entire exhibition will be on display until April 28.

McKee Botanical Garden, Inc., a 501 c (3) not-for-profit organization that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a sub-tropical hammock spanning over 18 acres. A paradise for nature lovers, this lush garden holds an impressive 10,000 native and tropical plants dotted with picturesque waterlilies.
