As Indian River County continues a phased and strategic approach to safely re-opening County facilities, we are pleased to announce that the Intergenerational Recreation Center (iG Center) will re-open on Monday, September 21st for pre-reserved, socially distanced meetings and pickleball play.
For those who visit the iG Center for meetings or pickleball, masks will be required in all common areas and meeting rooms within the facility. Additional measures that will be in place to promote a safe and healthy environment include signage, plexiglas barriers, social distance markers, and hand sanitizing stations. County staff will also be conducting enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces within the iG Center throughout the day. All iG Center meeting attendees will be spaced apart in order to ensure proper social distancing guidelines are followed. Additionally, maximum participation standards will be set in accordance with the capacity of individual meeting rooms. Both meeting attendees and pickleball participants should bring their own water in sealed containers, as drinking fountains will remain turned off until further notice. However, vending machines will be available for sports drinks, water, and snacks.
For those who wish to play pickleball at the iG Center, please register, pay in advance, and view social distancing and player guidelines by visiting the Indian River County Parks and Recreation website at http://www.ircrec.com. For further assistance with online registration, please call 772-226-1732. For those wishing to reserve a meeting room at the iG Center, please call 772-226-1732.
