news release
We’re going on a Moonshot Treasure Hunt.
Summer is here and we want to make sure all families and caregivers provide great learning opportunities and experiences to their children. To make it easier for them, The Learning Alliance invites Indian River County families to join them on a Moonshot Summer Treasure Hunt.
Each week The Learning Alliance will release a new, themed Treasure Hunt with ideas on how you can connect with your child by reading, talking, playing, singing and creating. All crucial for the development of successful readers.
The activities are engaging and will encourage the development of vocabulary, comprehension, expression, and many other skills critical to literacy.
The Learning Alliance is working alongside the School District of Indian River County community leaders, citizens, businesses, and a collaborative of local nonprofits toward the Moonshot Moment goal to have 90 percent of all students reading on grade level by the end of third grade.
Literacy is the number one predictor of individual success and community prosperity. With your support, we can transform the next generation.
Our children are the true “treasures” of the Treasure Coast. To help them to grow and become productive members of society, we need to ensure they are ready to enter kindergarten. Activities like the weekly Moonshot Treasure Hunt will help them unlock a brighter future.
Complete each weekly challenge, then post photos or videos of your child reading, talking, playing, singing, and creating on social media using #TLAMoonshotTreasures for a chance to win some exciting prizes.
The Learning Alliance invites everyone to distribute these weekly Treasure Hunt activities to your employees and parents.
